Auxilium College of Arts and Science for Women, Regunathapuram, is a minority Catholic higher educational institution managed by the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, Province of Our Lady of Snow, Tiruchirappalli. The college is dedicated to women's empowerment and has been committed to their welfare for decades. Established in 2007 with just three students, the college has grown to accommodate over 1,000 students. Affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, the college is accredited with an 'A' Grade in its first cycle by NAAC. The college has established the Institution Innovation Council and an NPTEL Local Chapter, underscoring its commitment to innovation and continuous learning. The primary goal is to provide holistic education for first-generation women from rural areas, preparing them to face international challenges. The college emphasizes quality culture through the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), focusing on quality initiatives, sustenance, and enhancement, aligning with its vision and mission.
The Department of Mathematics was established for the undergraduate program in 2007 and expanded to include a postgraduate program in 2013. The department boasts eight faculty members with extensive research and teaching experience. Its primary objective is to encourage, teach, and train students at all levels. To enrich students' knowledge, the department regularly conducts seminars, workshops, and competitions. Over the past 15 years, the department has made steady progress in encouraging students to participate in paper presentations and intercollegiate competitions at various colleges, consistently preparing them to secure top ranks in the university. With well-qualified faculty members, the department aims to become a research department in the near future.
The Department of Computer Science and Applications has been a vital part of the college since 2008. It introduced a postgraduate program in 2018 and envisions further research in programming in the coming years. The department's objective is to mold students with professional excellence and impart technological skills with social and spiritual values. To enhance competence and employability, the department continuously updates its curriculum. At the same time, it ensures that the focus on employability does not compromise academic excellence and the pursuit of knowledge. The department has earned a reputation for academic excellence by consistently securing top ranks in the university and facilitating placements in various companies.
The Department of Physics holds the top position on the chronological list of programs started. Established in 2008, when the College itself was revived, the Department initially offered only the Pre-University course. The Undergraduate Programme (B.Sc.) was introduced in 2010. Since its inception, the Department has had all the essential infrastructural facilities, including fully equipped laboratories with necessary amenities and instruments. Responding to ever-growing demands, the Department became a full-fledged P.G. Department in 2016. The Department now features a modern laboratory with special-purpose mini-labs, a hardware lab, and an operating systems and networking lab, all serving the teaching faculty and students. Additionally, the Department supports students from other related disciplines in undertaking project work, particularly in areas such as electronics, non-conventional energy sources like solar and wind energy, nanotechnology, and thin film techniques.
